Purposeful: In the New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!

My word for this year is purposeful. I have done a good job in the past decluttering and every so often I go back and do a bit like every season I go through the house and evaluate what is being used and what’s not.

But my big issue is not getting pulled into I need this… I need that and then I end up with stuff I don’t need or use but I had to have it when I saw it. Anyone else do that?

I am forcing myself to be accountable for every item that makes its way into my house. Do I really need it? What purpose does it serve?

I don’t mind getting rid of stuff we’ve outgrown or no longer need, but it irks me to no end to get rid of items we never used.

What this means for me is not only keeping on the simplify and declutter path, but justifying an items existence inĀ  my home and being very selective about new items to add in.
